3rd CHINA-CAMBODIA “Z GENERATION” YOUTH STUDENT VLOG SHORT VIDEO COMPETITION
2024 is the China-Cambodia Cultural Exchange Year. To enhance the exchanges and interactions between young students in Chinese and Cambodian universities and focus on the study and life of “Generation Z” Chinese and Cambodian college students, the Cambodia Research Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University, China-Cambodia Friendship Channel of China Central Radio and Television, and China-Cambodia Cultural Exchange Alliance plan to jointly host the “3rd China-Cambodia 'Generation Z' Youth Student Vlog Short Video Competition” starting in July 2024.
The specific event arrangements are as follows:

3. Competition format:
a. Competition process:
Registration and confirmation of the competition - Submit the competition video - Expert scoring and selection - Announcement of competition results - Exhibition of outstanding works
b. Participation method:
Participants shall organise their own teams to participate in the competition. Each team shall consist of 1-4 persons and shall not exceed 4 persons. Each team shall have a team leader and participants shall not participate in the competition repeatedly.
c. Participants:
Chinese students learning Cambodian, Cambodian students learning Chinese (including Cambodian students studying in China)
4. Group situation:
Group 1: Chinese studentslearning Cambodian (Cambodian students can
participate as team members)
Group 2: Cambodian students studying Chinese
(Including Cambodian students studying in China. Chinese students can participate as team members)
【Note: Teams can form teams across countries, schools, and majors , but cannot compete in different groups.】
Competition Theme:
Group 1: China-Cambodia cultural exchanges in my eyes Group 2: Cambodia-China Cultural Exchange in My EyesRequirements for entries:
a. Submission form:
The video must have complete images and sounds, and it is recommended to produce Chinese and Cambodian subtitles. The video submission format for the competition is MP4 , with a duration of 3 to 5 minutes , a resolution of 1920*1080 , horizontal screen recording , and a screen ratio of 16:9 . The work must have a title, and the picture must be beautiful, clear, and smooth, and the lens must not shake.
7. Language Use:
For the dialogues, narrations, and synchronous sounds in the video, participants in Group 1 must use Cambodian (Cambodian participants must use Mandarin Chinese), and participants in Group 2 must use Mandarin Chinese (Chinese participants must use Cambodian). The voice must be clear and fluent, and able to highlight the main content of the video .
8. Content of the work:
The works must highlight the theme, have positive content, and have correct and clear values; the video expression form can be flexible and diverse, intuitive and vivid, with strong appeal, able to arouse emotional resonance, and have communication value. Advertisements are not allowed in
the works, including but not limited to watermarks, links, QR codes, etc., and politically sensitive topics and content are strictly prohibited.
9. Originality:
The participating videos must be original, with positive images, standard voices, and appropriate editing. The contestants themselves are responsible for any rights to portrait, reputation, trademarks, and copyrights. After submitting the video, the event organizer also owns the copyright, right to use, and right to interpret the video.

11. Competition Process
a. Registration time:
Please fill in the registration form online before 24:00 on July 7, 2024, Beijing time. b. Registration method:
The team leader should fill in the registration form. Registration can be done in the following ways:
Scan the QR code of WJX and fill in the registration form.

a. Submission of works:
The participating teams must submit a video and a 100-150-word Chinese work description (doc format) before 24:00 Beijing time on September 20, 2024. The work description should include the Chinese work title. Please follow the steps below to submit the video and work description: The first step is to name the video file in the following way: [Group] + group leader's school name + group leader's name, such as [Group 1] + Beijing Foreign Studies University + Zhang San;
The second step is to name the work description file in the following format: [Group] + group leader's school name + group leader's name, such as [Group 1] + Beijing Foreign Studies University + Zhang San;
Step 3: Package the above two electronic documents into a compressed file and name it "[Group] + Group Leader's School Name + Group Leader's Name", such as: [Group 1] + Beijing Foreign Studies University + Zhang San;
Step 4. Send the compressed file to email address zj_vlog2022@126.com. The staff will reply within 5 working days.
3. Professionals including senior media professionals and senior scholars will review the submitted Vlog works. The arithmetic average of the judges' scores after removing the highest and lowest scores will be the final score of the group and will determine the final ranking of the group in its group.
Awards
There are two categories in the competition, with first, second and third prizes respectively. Each category has 1-3 first prizes, 2-5 second prizes, and 3-10 third prizes . There are also several excellent prizes. In addition to certificates, the winning team members will also receive exquisite prizes. The winning works will have the opportunity to be displayed on social media such as WeChat, Weibo, TikTok, Facebook and related websites through the China-Cambodia Friendship Channel publicity platform, Beijing Foreign Studies University publicity platform, etc., and recommended to related competitions held by domestic mainstream media.

“CHINA-CAMBODIA CULTURAL EXCHANGES IN MY EYES”
To help Cambodian students of Chinese the Royal Academy of Cambodia is offering a four-day practical and comprehensive course that will help you plan, shoot and edit professional short videos for social media, marketing and more. You will work with professionals to use simple smart-phone or DSLR cameras, sound/lighting equipment and editing tools to produce a 2- 3 minute unscripted video.

Class 1 : Making Short Video’s:
Introduction to “China-Cambodia cultural exchanges in my eyes”
Short video production equipment, design, scripting, applications, editing and
post-production.
Advertisements are not allowed in the works, including but not limited to
watermarks, links, QR codes, etc., and politically sensitive topics and content are strictly prohibited.
Class 2: Story Development Methods:
Brainstorming: Students work together to brainstorm ‘culture ideas’ and come
up with a very simple outlines.
Mind Mapping: Students learn how to connect ideas with structured mind mapping to develop a simple script into two or three options.
Six Hats: Students learn how to review ideas in groups where each member has a specific role to analyse and critique ideas and outlines and therefore improve both their own and their classmates work.
Class 3 : Scripting and Storyboard:
Introduction to basic scripting principles and preparation of storyboards
The works must highlight the theme, have positive content, and have correct and
clear values.
Class 4 : Basic Camera Operation:
Introduction to basic camera operation and video making
